I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer. I know I did since traffic was so much better!
Welcome to another year of meetings and tours starting September 23rd for the Atlanta Section of ASQ. Our Programs Chair, Sandi Reynolds, is lining up an excellent series of events for our monthly meetings for the fourth Thursday of the month. I can’t give you the list at this point, but be sure to open and read e-mail received from ASQ for the upcoming meetings.
The first presentation will be by Vicki Flier Hudson, principal consultant for Highroad Global Services, on the topic of “Quality across Borders: An International Perspective on the Practice of Applying Standards”. You can read more about Ms. Hudson and her presentation in another section of the newsletter. My daughter is going to UGA this year and part of the orientation program contained a bit of sage advice. The emphasis was on balance at school and pointed out to the students that they should plan time for work and study, for entertainment and adventure, and time for rest. The message applies to all of us as well. Be sure to join us at the meetings where we will cover two of the three areas (sleeping is not a part of the agenda, but you can book a room at the hotel if you so desire). At 5:30 we start with registration and the social hour where you can meet and mingle with fellow ASQ members. At 6:30 we start the dinner part of the evening followed at 7:30 by Ms. Hudson’s presentation. I hope to see you at the next meeting! Ruffin Booth Section Chair |
